FAQS (Frequently Asked Questions)

How much is shipping?

For the majority of our products we offer one flat rate shipping fee of $7.95 to anywhere in the United States (Sabaidee, Alaska and Hawaii!) and its territories. The only exceptions to this flat rate policy are a few of our significantly heavy or large products, which will incur a unique shipping charge as noted in the product description. Our standard domestic shipping is between 5-10 business days. We reserve the right to cancel and to refund any order.

Do you ship internationally?

We are no longer taking International Orders at this time. Unfortunately, customs and shipping costs are prohibitive. We also could not guarantee reasonable shipping times or delivery confirmation due to the unreliability of certain international carriers. We thank the Laotian communities worldwide for having supported us in our first few years of business and regret no longer being able to serve you.

Why am I being charged tax?

Then you must live in the Great State of Texas!! Woohoo! Laos House LLC is based in the most fabulous city of Austin, Texas. Any shipments to a Texas address are required by law to be assessed a sales tax of 8.25%. For those outside of Texas, there is no sales tax and you get off tax free. (But that means you don’t live in Texas and, well, we kinda feel sorry for ya.)

Where is Laos House?

We are in the United States of America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. Our business headquarters is in Austin, the beautiful capital city of the State of Texas. We are proud to be Americans, proud to be Texans, and proud to be Khon Lao!

What’s your refund policy?

We only carry quality items, and trust you’ll be pleased. If you’re not happy, just let us know. Email us within seven (7) days of your receipt of the item at service@LaosHouse.com and we’ll email you back a pre-paid return shipping label. Simply print out the label, tape up your package, and send it back at our cost. Upon our receipt of the returned item, we’ll credit back your money in full, less the original shipping charge.

What’s your privacy and security policy?

We’re big on privacy and confidentially, and will never abuse any information. We use Stripe to process all orders, so that all your information is safe and secure. All financial information is handled by Stripe and they actively monitor for fraud protection and suspicious transactions. All transactions are encrypted, and Laos House never sees or stores your financial information as credit card orders are processed directly via Stripe's secure networks. Privacy and payment information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

How is the Women's traditional clothing sized?

Our product descriptions for our imported traditional clothing includes both the US size and European size, as traditionally used in Laos. The chart below provides more details regarding size conversions:

Do you carry large sizes?

Whenever possible, yes. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and we do our best to secure the range for our customers, including up to 5XL, if available. It can cost twice as much to manufacture clothing in non-standard sizes, yet we choose to do so because we want to provide you with choices. We’re grateful to have your patronage and khop chai for your business!

Do you do large quantities or special orders?
Yes! We're happy to accommodate you if at all possible. With certain items, we may have several hundred already in stock and can readily accommodate your large quantity request. Otherwise, we can always have many of our products made and shipped at your request. For multiple quantities of the same sinhs and other specialty items from Laos, we can generally have them made with enough notice. (We do carry some limited edition items that are not reproducible.) To the extent possible, we'd love to work with you on your special or large order. Simply email us at service@LaosHouse.com and we will be happy to work directly with you.

What's the deal about wearing or taking LanXang gear back to Laos?

We wouldn't recommend it. We know that a lot of folks are visiting and will visit the Homeland, yet we'd just caution on wearing or using any LanXang or Royal Kingdom of Laos branded items while traveling there. Please exercise common sense, and use courtesy and discretion. There are 50 beautiful US states and 190 plus countries you can fly the LanXang emblem without concern. We all know the how and why we became "Lao Nork" and respect our history. Times are evolving but we'd rather you be safe, exercise an abundance of precaution, and respect the history and people when traveling back to Laos or anywhere. We wish for you to enjoy any and all of your travels without worry!
